Quote from Dr. Lucas' letter to editor

on .

"Ohio school districts receive an average of about 75% of what their community pays in state income taxes. Olentangy receives less than 5% of what our community sends to the state. In essence our residents have been sending funds to other school districts across Ohio while being asked to pass levy after levy to fund their own."

An except from Superintendent Dr. Wade Lucas' letter to the editor on state funding that appeared in the Saturday, Feb. 16 Columbus Dispatch. Read the letter in its entirety here.

Quote on Calamity Days

on .

"We calculate exactly how many students turn their pajamas inside out, multiply that by the number of students who do the chicken dance, and divide that by the square root of the number of spoons placed under pillows.  If the final number is greater than 78, we cancel school."

Superintendent Dr. Wade Lucas having a little fun while explaining the process used for delaying or canceling school. Watch the video which features some adorable Olentangy elementary school students!
